The problem with most Get Paid to Read Email Programs
Having worked a number of these programs for the last two months, I have discovered that the majority of these programs don’t work and are a waste of your time.
The concept behind the "Get Paid to Read Email" programs
Almost everyone hates Spam. Both the unsolicited email and somethimes even the luncheon meat.
Yet, there are still advertisers that want people to learn about their
product. So, somebody decided to start an opt-in email program. People
would actually volunteer to receive junk mail, and in return they would get
paid to read it.
A person can earn anywhere from 10 cents to one point for reading these emails. A few of these programs send out a lot of email and pay you fairly well for reading them.
By fairly well I mean five cents. Most of them will pay for one cent and there are those that will pay you a lot less. If you just read the email, you can make a whopping $3.00 to $5.00 a week for about ten hours of work! That’s not exactly something that I would want to brag about at my next high school reunion.
I soon realized that the big money comes in when you recruit people. It's
kind of like building a downline in a Multi-Level Marketing program, except you don't have to sell vitamins, weight loss products, or soap. It doesn't cost anybody any thing to join these programs, and they get paid money to read.
The best part is, you also get paid when your referrals read their email.
Can I really make thousands of dollars a month?
You will find a lot of ads on the internet saying that you can make thousands of dollars a month just by reading email. I’ve seen one ad that says you can make $8,000.00 a month by just spending 20 - 40 minutes a day!! Wow! Could that be true?
I must confess that I too got caught up in the hype. I too ran an ad saying that a person can make $2,000 a month by reading email.
Although it still may very well be true that a person can do this, it’s going to take some work, some money, and a lot of time to accomplish this.
How I got Caught up in the hype
One day I came across the following ad: "Learn to Make $2,000 a Month by Reading E-Mail." I was very excited. I’d like to make $2,000 a month just by reading e-mail. This could be the perfect job. They were giving away a free course, and hey! I like free, so I signed up. I finished the course and did as I was told.
The idea was to duplicate it by giving away your own "Earn $2,000 a Month by Reading E-Mail" course. "Great!" I thought. The real money comes from recruiting others, so I set up my own course, put together a web site, and started to advertise.
Now, I suppose you think I’m going to tell you that it was all a mistake and I was wrong to promote the course. This is not the case because I am actually very happy with the results that I got. In fact, over time, and with some promoting, it could very well be possible to “Earn $2,000 a Month by Reading E-Mail.”
As I look back, I realize that the big problem was that most people thought they could make $2,000 a month in a couple of months just by reading email. Having made the mistakes and learned the hard way, I can now pass on the information that I have learned.
